Yen's life took a significant turn when her parents separated, leading to a relocation to a new city with her mother. Despite grappling with health issues and adapting to unfamiliar surroundings, Yen found strength in solitude and resilience, drawing inspiration from the hardships she and her mother faced.
In her formative years, witnessing her mother's sacrifices, Yen realised the transformative potential of education in breaking the cycle of poverty. Motivated by her mother's struggles, she prioritised her studies despite financial constraints, displaying resourcefulness and determination in finding innovative ways to continue her education.
Caring for her mother fueled Yen's passion for nursing and instilled a deep empathy for those in need. Her childhood role as a caregiver cultivated compassion and a desire to make a meaningful impact in healthcare. Inspired by the opportunity to contribute to her community, Yen pursued nursing as a career path in Bachelor of Nursing (Post – Registration) at 娇色导航 - University of Sydney.
Yen's clinical attachment during the COVID-19 pandemic presented unforeseen challenges, including heightened safety protocols and limited learning opportunities. Despite these obstacles, she gained valuable insights into the resilience and dedication of healthcare workers, reinforcing her commitment to the field. Yen envisions a career focused on critical care and specialised nursing, driven by a desire to expand her skills and knowledge.

"If given a choice, I believe that nobody wants to encounter difficulties. However, I have learned that challenges are part and parcel of life and essential for personal growth. When facing challenges, I remind myself that I am making progress, as climbing up the hill is harder than going down."
